MICROLIGHT TRAINING LESSONS AT CHIRK AIRFIELD ON THE NORTH & MID WALES BORDER

Flychirk Microlights is situated at Chirk airfield on the North East Wales border with England and covering the surrounding areas - 22 miles North of Mid Wales Airport in Welshpool and 16 Miles South of Hawarden Airport. With easy access from North Wales and the Shropshire plains Fly-Chirk Microlight Training carries out instruction in the local area for the National Private Pilots Licence NPPL(M) (Microlights).

One of the greatest thrills anyone can experience is to pilot their own aircraft and take their family or friends along with them. The training is great fun and you’ll meet a whole bunch of new people along the way that have the same passion, some of which will become friends for life.

Microlighting is an enjoyable and affordable way to fly – With more than 3000 Microlights within the UK. They form the largest single group of light aviation aircraft in the UK and flying Microlights costs a fraction of the expense normally associated with aviation.

One of the advantages over larger light aircraft is the reduced training syllabus requirement. That’s not to say standards are lower, simply that there is no instrument flight training involved, which reduces both air time and ground school study.

All microlight training is carried out by Chief Microlight Flight instructor Nick James, who has been flying Microlights since 1997 having initially took his microlight training at Welshpool and then onto Dragon Wings Microlights.
